2012 Milersport Community Thetare Minstrel Show "THE BIG EASY"
We are happy to announce that our 2012 minstrel show, "THE BIG EASY" will be directed by Mark Severance.
The show will present music from New Orleans and have a Mardi Gras look.
The second half "Olio" will be directed by Rodney Helser
The Minstrel will be held March 2nd and 3rd at the Millersport Elementary Auditorium at 8:00 both nights.
Our organizational rehearsal will be Sunday January 8th at 1:00 pm in the Millersport United Methodist Social Hall.
Here is a schedule for you:
Jan 8th 1:00 pm - sign up for committees and show spots,pick up advertising packets, measure for costumes, and try out for solos.
Jan 15th 2:00 pm - Second half (Olio) tryouts, and organizational meeting.
Jan 22nd 2:00 pm - Rehearsal for first half and work on second half.
Jan 29th 2:00 pm - Rehearsal for fisrt and second halfs.
Feb 5th 2:00 pm - Full show rehearsal.
Feb 12th 2:00 pm - Full show rehearsal.
Feb 19th 2:00 pm - Full show rehearsal.
Feb 26th 2:00 pm - First rehearsal on stage at the school.
Feb 27th 7:00 pm - Full rehearsal on stage and first night of tech work.
Feb 28th 7:00 pm - Full rehearsal on stage and second night of tech work.
Feb 29th 7:00 pm - Endpersons rehearsal on stage. (NO CHORUS OR GUESTS)
Mar 1st 6:00 pm - FULL DRESS REHEARSAL.
Mar 2nd 8:00 pm - OPENING NIGHT.
Mar 3rd 8:00 pm - Final show and tear down.

If you are not a member of the MILLERSPORT COMMUNITY THEATRE or know of someone who is not a member but would like to be, please be at the church on Jan 8th to sign up and join as a full member.
Also, this year anyone in the 7th grade and up will be allowed to be a part of the show as long as they have a responsible adult with them at rehearsals and show nights.
Membership fees will be $10.00.

Minstrel shows became a Millersport tradition in 1958 when the Millersport Athletic Booster Club sponsored the show. Later, the project was shared with the Band Boosters.
After many years, the shows were discontinued and then revived by the Millersport Community Theatre, (MCT) in 1976. Each year since then, MCT has produced a community minstrel show featuring area talent. The MCT was an outgrowth of the Bicentennial Celebration and
began with the summer production of Brigadoon.
Membership has increased and for every year since its beginning, MCT has produced a summer musical.
